Arrived at the Mediterranean, precisely in Heraklion, the capital of Crete. The seafood is absolutely divine, coffee strong, young boys drive motorbikes without helmet, people look at each other from toe to head, restaurants serve free dessert and raki, and history is everywhere. It has been a long time (since September) that I have not seen the Mediterranean –c’est un grand plaisir!
Last night we ate outside by the sea. This morning we left the hotel at 10 o’clock wearing shorts. Temperature soon climbed to 24C, but once it started raining it dropped to below 20C. Good weather to do sightseeing. Tomorrow we continue to Rethymno. A more detailed report about Heraklion is to follow…
