What is for dinner this summer?

This week chez nous in Paris the menu has been cantaloupe starters, tomato mozzarella salads, grilled eggplants, stuffed courgettes, Asian prawns with broccoli, peppers and coriander, spanakopita with lots of onion, and sliced peach for dessert.

All these fruits and vegetables from the Bastille Market for just 10 Euros! Enjoyed with excellent (and cheap) rosé from our favorite wine shop (see: Christmas preparations: wine). Cannot complain!

What has been on your plate this summer?

Mia, this is Daniel G and I’ve been trying to get in touch with you for a long time. I’ve tried everything and still no luck. So maybe a recipe will work.
From my travels in Africa learnt to soak Meat or chicken in a mix of hot peppers and Papaya. Just turn the Papaya into pulp and add diced hot peppers. The combination is heavenly. The enzymes in the papaya tenderize the meat or chicken. It also adds a wonderful color and flavor.
Finally after barbecuing or grilling you add salt black and white pepper and serve with cilantro and lime wedges that people can squeeze onto their food at will.

Going to a tomatoe festival today in Carouge Geneva. I’ve been attending for nine years now and always fantastic! Local produce here is amazing and delicious. Congratulations are in order Miia.

Lovely to connect again Miia! Thanks so much and we are adoring being grandparents. So much easier than parenting. Lots of wonderful adventures for us as well in travel. Sending huge hugs your way!

Hey Iris, thx for your comment! Hopefully your summer is colorful in every sense as well 🙂
Don’t know how long my blogging comeback is going to last -with a one-year old daughter at home, it is challenging…

Good to hear Miia! Thanks, it’s quite dry and we do need more rain this time of year. Otherwise am enjoying a break from work meeting up with family and friends. All the best, and do whatever blogging you can. 🙂

Oh, we could have exported some rain from Paris earlier this year 😉 I was not here to witness it but there were big floods in Paris.

Enjoy family and friends time, best wishes!
